Friday, 1/20 11 am - noon: Fish Bowl Toss - Come to the CC 3rd floor outside of the game room for a chance to win a new goldfish by throwing a ping pong ball into the fish bowl!
Monday, 1/23 noon - 2 pm: Mini-golf - An annual favorite! SUB will have a giant miniature golf course set up on the 3rd floor of the CC. Compete for a chance to win a $150 gift card to Pick n' Save!
Thursday, 1/26 6 pm - 9:30 pm: Milwaukee Domes - Join SUB as we visit the Milwaukee Domes - Milwaukee's largest indoor botanical gardens! There will also be an Elvis lookalike contest and an Elvis tribute band at the domes that night! A bus will leave from the CC at 6:00 pm. Sign up at the CCID!
Friday, 1/27 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm: Taste of Wisconsin - SUB, along with Women's Connections and Student Activities is putting on the Taste of Wisconsin in the Todd Wehr Auditorium. Come and sample a variety of cheeses and other Wisconsin food! Spaces are limited - sign up at the CCID!
Saturday, 1/28 7:30 pm - 10 pm: KingPenZ Hip Hop Concert - KingPenz, a local Milwaukee Hip Hop duo, including T.S., an MSOE student, is headlining a hip hop concert in the Todd Wehr Auditorium benefiting Arts@Large, a local Milwaukee charity! Event is free to all MSOE students. Donations are appreciated and all proceeds go to Arts@Large.
Monday-Friday, 1/30-2/3: Snowball Find - The SUBZero Days annual snowball find kicks off Monday morning! Look for styrofoam snowballs all around the CC 3rd floor and redeem them for fabulous prizes at the hockey game on Friday!
Monday, 1/30 noon - 2 pm: Angry Birds Mini-game - Join SUB during free hour to hurl angry birds at the evil pigs' fortress! This popular mobile game comes to life on the CC 3rd floor!
Thursday, 2/2 5 pm - 7 pm: Milwaukee Art Museum - Join SUB as we visit the Milwaukee Art museum Thursday night! Free admission for everybody who comes! We will leave from the CC at 5 PM.
Friday, 2/3 6:45 pm: Hot Chocolate Giveaway at the Hockey Game - Support MSOE's hockey team by going to the game Friday night in the Kern Center! SUB will be giving out hot chocolate as well as announcing prizes for the week, including a brand new Kindle Fire!
Friday, 2/3 After the hockey game: Rave on Ice - Pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Melt the ice with MSOE's hottest dance party! Free skate, glow sticks, and a dj mixing the best electronic music live!

Join us Monday during Free Hour in the CC for our annual Minigolf competition, featuring a grand prize this year of a $150 Pick 'n Save Gift Card!
The SUB Zero Days minigolf course is an annual favorite, encompassing a home-made miniature golf hole spanning multiple levels of the CC. Start outside of President Viets's office on the Mezzanine level and putt your way past hazards and obstacles on your way to victory on the 3rd floor! The best score will win the grand prize of a $150 Pick 'n Save gift card! (Just think of how much Mountain Dew you could get with that!)

PURPOSE OF THE SERIES
The purpose of the MSOE last lecture series is two-fold: to recognize a faculty or staff member of MSOE for their years of service and contributions to the university by giving them an opportunity to pass on their greatest and most succinct knowledge and life-experiences to the student body and their peers, and, second, to create an opportunity for those in attendance at the lecture to learn what the speaker truly believes are the most important facets of their human life experiences and accomplishments.
ABOUT THIS YEAR’S SPEAKER
Professor Nancy Olmsted began her career at MSOE since 1993. Professor Olmsted is currently an instructor in the Math Department. Professor Olmsted was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Maine in 1966 and her Masters of Arts in Mathematics from that campus in 1968. Professor Olmsted announced her retirement from MSOE in 2011.

NACA Update 2
MSOE SUB brings home awards
The NACA awards ceremony was tonight and MSOE was represented well! In addition to the Outstanding Advisor award given to Nick Seidler earlier this week and the Celebrating the Human Spirit of Programming award for Discover the World also given earlier this week, MSOE took home the Outstanding Delegation award, an honorable mention for the Series Programming graphic design for Discover the World by Tim Paladin, the award for best Publicity Campaign for Dynamic Duo by Tim Paladin, and the best Web Site Design for the brand new SUB website!
The SUB NACA delegates saw all sorts of amazing programs throughout the weekend and want to know who MSOE students would like to see on campus. Photos and videos of some of these events will be posted soon so check back and tell us who you like!

MSOE students play for money!
MSOE Student Union Board hosts Kash Kab, a take on the popular TV game show Cash Cab. SUB Member Kash Engineer (her real name) asks contestants questions for a chance to win money.
This event was not advertised and kept secret to surprise contestants. It will be done again in the future so always be ready to play Kash Kab whenever you ride the MSOE shuttle!

Join SUB Monday night, April 4th, at 7:00 PM in the Todd Wehr Auditorium as we present the Dynamic Duo, national champion slam poets! This FREE event is open to all MSOE students - guests are welcome! Free pizza and soda will be offered during the show.
About the Dynamic Duo:
Fighting Crime across The United States for the better part of the past 2 years, The Dynamic Duo are poetry's favorite crime fighting pair. Heralded for their high energy live performances involving complex dual voice work, comedy, and emotionally raw poetry Panama Soweto and Ken Arkind have brought their show to both coasts and all points in between. From The Nuyorican Poets Café and The Bowery Poetry Club in New York City to Da Poetry Lounge in Los Angeles, World Famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Yale, Rutgers, MSOE and numerous universities, slam venues and high schools across the country.
Their work covers subjects as far reaching and broad as politics and video games, depression and comic books, racism and relationships proving that poetry can be about whatever you want it to and that it can be enjoyed by anyone.
They have been featured in the documentaries "SPIT!" and "Slamplanet" and have been on a combined eight Denver area slam teams including the 2006 National Championship Team. Panama Soweto is a two-time member of the Mercury Café Slam Team (home of the 2006 National Championship title) and a founding member of the Slamnuba! Team. He was the 2005 and 2006 Pablo Neruda Poetry Festival Barrio Slam Champion. He is currently a Teacher for The Denver Housing Authority and has spent many years working with underprivileged youth as an art teacher and educator.
Ken Arkind is a five-time member of the Mercury Café Slam Team and 2 time National Poetry Slam Finalist being on the 2004 2nd place Team and The 2006 Championship Team. A 2004 Barrio Slam Champ and 2005 Denver City Slam Champion. He is the current project coordinator for the Denver Minor Disturbance Youth Slam and has taught workshops in numerous high schools and Juvenile detention centers throughout the mid west.
They have shared stages with notable performance poets The Chicano Messengers of Spoken Word, Mike McGee, Pulitzer Prize winner Yusef Komunyakaa, Andrea Gibson, Blair, and New York's Jive Poetic Falu, Rainmaker, and Mahogany Browne. Musicians such as The Flobots, Zebra Junction, and Sage Francis as well as World Famous Last Comic Standing winner Josh Blue.

Friday, March 11th, 2011 SUB met on the 3rd floor of the CC to design this year's St. Pat's week flag and banner. The theme for this year was "McVillain O'Hero" with former SUB President, Tim Paladin, as SUB's St. Pat nomination. Paladin took on the character of "Mr. Incredipal" for this nomination and is depicted on both the flag and the banner.
